KC Skates

I first knew about KC when we did her first photoshoot when she was fourteen. Her mom is a good friend of mine and we turn out taking photos of her every year, which we never really intended to. I'll share her other photos in another post.

This year, KC is months past fifteen years. And from being this shy girl from Valencia, she is turning into a wonderful fearless young lady, and even prettier, too! My camera loves her because she can make her photos look calm and relaxed that she looks like she's used to being photographed. I adore her long brown and naturally wavy hair.  It adds a lot of softness and a flowy element in the photos.

I thought of doing something with an urban touch this time. So agreed to take photos of her while she did her usual skateboarding time in Valencia Plaza with her friends. It was the perfect opportunity to get a few action shots together with the relaxed poses that I like. Of course her mom was there, supportive as ever, and decided to let her daughter wear her blue dress for an outfit change. As you can see, it worked out pretty well! After a lot of sorting cycles, I finally arrived with the following set to share with you. I hope you like them!

Aya turns fourteen

Aya just turned fourteen! I learned from her mom that she started ballet when she was two years old (wow!) and that she's very shy and hasn't been in a photoshoot before.

As with my other sessions, I aimed for the pictures to look effortless and relaxed and since we were doing it in a nature resort, it thought it should also look fresh and give a sense of stillness and not hurried. They wanted to feature scenes that show a horse, this horse named Delia. I love that she has a name! Delia was behaved the entire time. She had a caretaker nearby at all times just we got into some unpredictable moments.

Aya was a bit afraid of Delia the first few shots but they got better moments as we progressed. A few moments in and it started to drizzle so we had to let Delia go back.

As soon as it stopped drizzing, I wrapped up the poses since it was also getting a bit dark. We're so thankful despite all the gray clouds, it didn't rain all the way. I hope you all like these photos of Aya.
