Shifra at Eighteen

I learned from Shifra's mom that she decided for me to be her photographer because she related to me as an artist and also because we're both female. I was really happy to know this, which helped in the success of our shoot.  She really wanted a photoshoot for her eighteenth birthday.

She initially had a debut birthday party planned but because of circumstances, she decided on a simple celebration with her family. She also had a birthday advocacy and planted 150 trees with her friends and family in the boundaries of Dauin and Zamboanguita.  I only met her during our session but I immediately admire this girl her heart towards the environment and her ability to make simple but impactful decisions.

The photos were simply to show her love for books, art and nature.  We were lucky to have nice weather and my favorite afternoon light. We didn't have much time in the area, just 20-30 minutes where this beautiful light was, so I tried to make the most out of it.

Later that day, we travelled to Forest Camp wherein we had the challenge of finding a good spot since that was only a few days after the typhoon destroyed the spots I already decided on. They even wanted to have "Delia" the horse, to be in the photos but resort activities were not available.  Nevertheless, we did what we came for and glad to take home photos they loved.
