Expecting - Jane

I had the wonderful opportunity to capture memories with Jane with her lovely bump of seven to eight months. It was a gloomy morning, which was also the same day that super typhoon Odette struck our area. Thankfully, we got to do the shoot hours before landfall.

I love how this turned into great intimate scenes with soon to be parents Jane and Max. Really simple and relatable moments showing the glow of the expectant mom and her belly. She also wanted to include more of her husband in the scenes and the things they love to do together like having coffee and talking with each other.   It was sweet to include some of the things that she loved and had sentimental value to her, like the teddy bear he got her on their first date and her favorite book, The Fantastic Mr. Fox. These made the photos more personal to them which makes it all the more special. I always feel glad and honored to be trusted to capture something memorable in people's lives. Can't wait to meet their little boy!

Expecting | Aezel

A good friend of mine Aezel, came to me and requested I take photos of her first baby bump. She's not always in front of a camera but since this is a special period of her life, she decided to have some photos to remember it by. Her husband Stephen was there and helped with the props and clothing as well as hair and makeup John Rey. I was very glad they were there to help since I don't usually bring an assistant in low key sessions like this.

Aezel is also a good friend and both she and Stephen were very understanding of all the obstacles we met that day. I'm always so grateful that they trusted me with their pictures. I decided on something straightforward, casual and current for these two, but making sure I get a few sweet light-hearted moments they can cherish in the years to come.

In her tummy is baby Liam and as I write this, he is now almost a year old! Oh how time flies!
